Purpose
This assignment will help familiarize you with the multimedia options available to you in a blogging platform. It will also help you reflect on your ow n learning style and note taking habits. We’ll use class blogger entries as a way to catalog our progress in the course as well as a way to touch base for students who may have missed class. We’ll review class blogger accounts at the beginning of ever class to keep our progress and discussions fresh in our minds.

Getting Started
Each student will sign up to be the “class blogger” for a particular day. The purpose of the classroom blogger is to record notes, summarize conversations, and narrate classroom action as best you can. You are invited to take pictures and video footage and use links or other multimedia in your blog entry. In essence, the class blogger is a reporter documenting classroom events and your entry should use multimedia elements.

Be creative and have fun with this assignment. While it’s important to capture the information we’ve discussed in class, you can do so in a variety of ways. You might decide to write as if you are captain of a pirate ship and log the activities that way, using pirate language and images. You could write as if you’re a sports broadcaster. The options are limitless. Use this as a space to experiment with media, writing styles, tones, and whatever else your heart desires.

Reflection
After your experience as class blogger, you will write a short reflection blog entry about your experience that answers the following questions: what aspects of the class did you focus on and why? If you chose to use other media, what did you use and why? How did occupying the role of class blogger change your perspective of the classroom?

Submission

Copy and paste a link to your class blogger account in with your reflection. You’ll turn this in on Blackboard in the Assignments section.
